Aizawl, Mizoram
Aizawl, Mizoram
I came to Aizawl from Imphal through Silchar, as some people told me it would be safer to travel. Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, is a secluded place in the countryside. One can experience a peaceful healing journey of mind here.
As I was journeying to my location, my car got punctured again, adding to my taxing travelling. I immediately did the needful to get things going.
The inner line permit restrictions in Mizoram made entry into Aizawl quite complicated and burdensome due to red tape. Strict checking, affliction in finding a fine hotel, etc., were all part of it. At last, after much endeavour, I ended up in a cosy- comfortable guest house. Later, I got familiarised with the place by interacting with middle-grade students. I had a great time with them in the musical.
I didn’t have my food correctly because of the change in my primary diet.
Mizoram is a female-dominated state. Burma culture is quite liberating and westernised. smoking is common, and cigarettes are also cheap. In contrast, I didn’t drive there because of the steep slopes. I booked a ride on Rapido.
After that, I visited a school. Students and I seemed strangers to each other because of vast cultural differences. They were unfamiliar with the language of Hindi, so my performance was utterly alien to them. But to make it a wholesome experience, I asked them to perform their cultural songs. They sang their country road songs and this way, I had my fair share of good moments with them.
